Sunday School

RHUMC offers Sunday School classes for all ages - children, youth, and adults - from 10 am to 10:50 am.  We encourage everyone to participate in this opportunity for Christian enrichment through fellowship, study, and praise.  A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers.  Our Sunday school classes offer a wide variety of spiritual growth and fellowship. If you have any question, ideas or need additional information, please call Aimee Hoke, Sunday School Superintendent, at 756-4050.

Children’s Sunday School Classes:

Adult Sunday School Clases:

  • New Beginnings Class - Room 13, 2nd floor, Speir Bldg (singles and couples).  This class uses an open discussion format intergrating Bible study with application to life and social issues.  This class supports youth and adult mission trips, missionary and divinity school support, and our youth programs.  For more information, contact Donna Hoke, 756-4050.
  • Watchmen Class - Room 16, 2nd floor Speir Bldg. (singles and couples, 35+).  This class was established in 1977 as the then young adult class.  Class studies range from video series, books, and Bible studies.  The class supports the Methodist Children’s Home and Mission on the Move.  Members have several social events during the year.  For more information, call Gary Peterson, 727-4643.
  • Fisherman Class - (older adults).  This class follows the Adult Bible Study from Cokesbury (based on the International Lessons for Adults series).  The class supports the Methodist Children’s Home.  They have 2 social events each year.  For more information, call John Brewer, 727-2287.
  • Agape Class - Room 11, 2nd floor, Speir Bldg (all ages - couples and singles).  The Agape class studies a variety of Methodist literature, sometimes even off-season such as Christmas in July or Easter in October.  The class supports the ministries of RHUMC and has several social gatherings during the year, including oyster roasts.  For more information, contact Bob Shultz, 727-2722.
  • Climbers Class - Room 8, 2nd floor, Speir Bldg (young adults, singles, couples).  This class is considered the “young” adult Sunday School class with members ranging from 25 to 45.  Most have either small children or have not started families yet.  Studies come from the Bible and other sources.  For more information, contact Mike Hagan, 727-2013.
  • Seekers Class - Parlor, 2nd floor, Speir Bldg.  This is a new adult class studying the Bible verse-by-verse.  Previous Bible knowledge is not necessary.  For information, contact Terri Jarrell, 727-4218.
